Sponsor a Child's Education
Eligibility for Sponsorship
Sponsorship is provided to students who cannot support their education independently due to financial crisis. We at Potter’s Hand have defined eligibility criteria for sponsoring a child as either of the below conditions.
- Orphan
- Low income family
- Interest for studies
- Exploring more options into the educational field
The basic goal of Sponsoring is to support a child and the family in order to break the cycle of poverty and help them to be self dependent individuals throughout their life. And this goal is usually in support of all the children, despite their religion, race, caste, ethnic background or gender. In this case, students do not only get the benefits of education, but all round development as well. Sponsorship as an educational fund will help them to progress well in life and support their education throughout.
Program Description:
This program was created to reduce the school dropouts amongst underprivileged children. Many parents, despite being poor are determined to provide their children with a good education. They enroll them in private schools even though the fees are higher. However additional expenses like cost of uniform, stationery hit them hard and these become the reason for the child dropping out of school.
Potter's Hand takes full responsibility and carries out the background work to verify the eligibility of sponsorship for children. We make sure that the children who are sponsored will receive support until they complete education.
Community linkage for reducing drop-out rate:
Our team goes in to the community to meet the parents and children every day so that attendance in the day school remain stable. A list of absentee students is prepared everyday and the ‘Home Visit’ team members make sure to make contacts with the concerned students and parents within next 24 hours.
Medical treatment :
A strong need was felt that many children were suffering from abuse and adolescent health issues.
Co-curricular activities:
We want our children to excel in academics as well as in creative activities. Thus, cultural and sport programs are organized. For example drawing, music (singing) indoor games and special classes take place every Saturday afternoon.
The social worker monitors the progress of your child throughout the year. Various programs like life skill sessions, exposure visits, etc. are also planned for the child.
Donate to an educational sponsorship and save a child's future.
